DANCING WITH ROYALTY Music and Dance Academy (Oro Valley)
Be a prince or princess for a day and dance just like royalty! From the minuet, to the waltz, and even the mazurka, join us as we take a journey through history and trace the steps of the most popular court dances from around the world. In this concert, musicians and dancers break down the “fourth wall” and encourage audience participation on the “Magic Rug” inhabited by concert-goers and performers alike. Concert-goers are encouraged to experience hands-on participation utilizing rhythm instruments, movement, dance, and song. Bring your family to listen, laugh, dance and sing with us.
Saturday, June 1 Civic Orchestra of Tucson
The Civic Orchestra of Tucson presents its Musical Instrument Petting Zoo. We've got winds, strings, and percussion that you can play. Try them all and find your favorite orchestral instrument. Our musicians will be on hand to help you get a nice sound out of each instrument. It's joyful noise for all ages; and yes, we've seen toddlers play trombones!
Saturday, July 6 Civic Orchestra of Tucson
You are invited to join us in July for some Evans Family Musical Merriment! We plan to involve you in several musical adventure stories. You will hear diverse instruments including violin, cello, ukelele, guitar, ocarina, piano and more! Be ready to participate in our terrific tales!! You'll see storytelling in a whole new way! It will be a noisemaking narrative, a melodic myth, a fusion fable, and a singing saga. Come along!!

THE INTER-PLANETARY ADVENTURES OF PEPPY THE POODLE TRAVELING CIRCUS
Music and Dance Academy (Oro Valley)
This concert will feature music from Holst's The Planets, Khachaturian's Sabre Dance, Rimsky-Korsakoff's Flight of the Bumblebee and many more classical favorites! The story takes listeners on a trip with a traveling circus, led by Peppy the Poodle. This isn't just an ordinary circus, however, as the varied animal acts travel through space to reach their performance destinations. Young listeners will be encouraged to help "perform" the various circus tricks. STRING FAMILY FUN Music and Dance Academy (Oro Valley)
Children and families are invited to join in this magical music concert where a string quartet will take you on a wonderful journey around the world. You will have the opportunity to learn about the string family through an interactive concert, featuring Jose Reyes, violin, Amber Reed, viola and Robert Chamberlain, cello. You will be transported to Vienna, Puerto Rico, and Argentina, among other countries, while learning the different musical elements and compositional techniques that make these instruments so wonderful. Audience members will have the opportunity to assist the string ensemble by clapping, singing and even conducting it!
