With extensive research supporting arts education as an imperative mental development step for youth, SAACA has strived to create free to engage. Each month, children can enjoy interactive performances through the two-part series Just for Kids and Musical Magic for Kids. The program exists through partnerships with the area’s most acclaimed arts organizations – Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Tucson Pops Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Tucson, Music and Dance Academy and many others.

Traveling through Time with the Great Composers!
Oro Valley Music and Dance Academy
Take a trip through time with The Unusual Suspects Trio, while meeting some of the greatest composers, from Beethoven to Tchaikovsky to Duke Ellington!  No ordinary time machine, it is powered by classical and jazz music.  Listen and move to music of renowned composers, while hearing these composers "speak" about what it was really like to lives during their lifetimes.  The Unusual Suspects Trio consists of Deena Reedy, flute, Gregory Helseth, horn and Cassandra Bendickson, bassoon.

The International Adventures of Aunt Rhody & Uncle Bob!
Oro Valley Music and Dance Academy
Children and families are invited to join in this magical music concert where a string trio will take you on a wonderful journey around the world. You will have the opportunity to learn about the string family through an interactive concert, featuring faculty members of the Tucson Music and Dance Academy. Help Aunt Rhody and Uncle Bob discover the different musical ideas all over the world. You will be transported to Brazil, China, Egypt, among other countries, while learning the different musical elements and compositional techniques that make these instruments so wonderful. Audience members will have the opportunity to assist the string ensemble by clapping, playing percussion instruments and even conducting it!

Join the TSO Brass Quintet as they bring the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum to the Tucson Symphony Center!  Rubato the Rattlesnake is on the search for his rattle—help Rubato find it again while exploring desert landscapes and animals through this exciting musical depiction of the museum.

Tommy Tom-Tom returns, this time taking on the evil Groove Wrestler who likes to cause havoc by interrupting the musical groove.  With the help of some well-known superheroes and secret agents, join Tommy as he finally convinces the Wrestler that destroying the groove doesn’t do anybody any good.

Music and Dance Academy - Dueling Divas
Two violinists begin a debate about their favorite musical works, which ultimately turns into a duel between two divas.  They will perform some of their most cherished pieces from the Baroque era to modern day rock, jazz and musical selections.  Unable to settle their two-sided discussion, the divas will ask for audience assistance to perform and ultimately vote on their most favored pieces.

Join in Juanita’s journey as she navigates dangers and obstacles in her odyssey to return home to the farm.

Civic Orchestra of Tucson

The famed Civic Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo returns with a collection of musical items for everyone to try. Trill a trumpet, fiddle on a fiddle, challenge yourself on a cello, slide over to a trombone, float onto a flute and crash those cymbals. Enjoy a hands-on experience with orchestra instruments. If you're tired of hearing "don't touch," this program is "please touch!"
