Park Place Chalk Art Festival

March 29 & 30, 2014
Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday 11am-3pm   FREE Admission
Park Place Mall   5870 E. Broadway Blvd.

A true community collaboration in the arts, the Park Place Chalk Art Festival brings more than 4,000 people to the mall to cover the sidewalks with color, creating a winding path of murals wrapping around storefronts. Professional mural artists worked progressively through the weekend alongside the public’s Community Participation Mural and  KidZone, where art students created collaborative art pieces.  Murals are located in the South and North walkways at Park Place, as well as indoor murals located in the indoor Sears walkways.

 ENTERTAINMENT

The third annual Park Place Chalk Art Festival will be a true community collaboration of the arts. Professional artists, amateur artists, students, children and attendees will all participate in the festival to transform Park Place sidewalks into colorful works of art. Mural artists will create elaborate, large-scale pieces. The Kidzone (Sears & Macy’s outdoor courtyard) will provide a space where imaginations soar and children ages 3 to 12 can participate in their own original pieces of art.   Murals will be located in the South and North outdoor walkways, as well as indoor murals (Sears wing).

A signature event is emerging in Tucson, drawing completely upon the community to inspire creativity and expand its reach.

Now for the third year, Park Place has created a canvas for professional artists and individuals to transform an ordinary weekend into a colorful collaboration.
