Knud Rasmussen, Piano

Rasmussen was trained at the Fynen Music Conservatoire in Odense, with further studies at the Danish Royal Music Conservatoire in Copenhagen. He has diplomas in performing piano, organ, and guitar, and
has accompanied singers in all branches of music, classical and modern. He is the founder of the much acclaimed “Joyful Noise” Gospel Choir, which has performed all over Denmark as well as in the U.S.A., and he is also the organist at the Gammel Holte Kirke in Denmark.





Lars Bo Ravnbak, Tenor


Cand.mag. in music at the Copenhagen University. Lars studied by, John Guttmann Sørensen & Tonny Landy. Lars has sung following roles: Don José in Carmen with Opera Fresca, Lucrezia Borgia at the Danish Belcanto Society, Verdi I Lombardi at the Opera Sacra in Zürich, Camille de Roussillon in the Merry Widow, , and Tamino in The Magic Flute in Denmark.






Cecilia Hjortsberg, Soprano

Cecilia Hjortsberg studied at The royal music academy of Stockholm, Chamber music program The Opera studio at the Gothenburg opera, Starring role as the witch in Hansel and Gretel,Isis in Naumanns Osiris,production by the Malmö lyrical ensemble Donna Anna in Mozarts Don Giovanni, production by the Opera of Skåne Georgetta in Puccinis IL Tabarro, production by
the Opera i Provinsen Desdemona in Verdis Othello Production by the Opera i Provinsen, performed at Takkeloftet at the Royal Danish Opera. Coming roles: Mimi in Puccinis La Boheme, production by the Opera i Provinsen Waternymf in Dvoraks Rusalka,production by the Royal Danish Opera Voice from above in Don Carlos,production by the Royal Danish Opera. Donna Anna in Mozarts Don Giovanni, production by the Opera of Skåne Georgetta in Puccinis IL Tabarro, production by the Opera i Provinsen. Desdemona in Verdis Othello Production by the Opera i Provinsen,to be performed at Takkeloftet at the Royal Danish Opera.

 

Magnus Gislason, Tenor

Gislason was trained at the Music Conservatoire in Reykjavik, Iceland, and received further training in Milan under Prof. G. Ostini and masterclasses with Julia Hamari and Placido Domingo. He was permanently engaged at the Danish Royal Opera in 1991, and has since sung a series of concerts abroad and all around Denmark such as Verdi Requiem and Messe solennelle in Denmark and in Dresden, Frankfurt and Prag last year.feks. In the summer of 2000 he sang Don José in Bizet's Carmen in Hamburg in connection with the "Carmen 2000" project under the leadership of the conductor Cord Garben, and in October, 2005/6, the production was performed in Tokyo, Japan. In 2006 and ´07 he has sang with the Royal Norwegian Opera in first performed opera“Aurora” by Tryggve Madsen. MG is frequently singing concerts in Denmark and Germany.

 

Mats Calvén , Tenor

Mats is Swedish-born and has sung with both the Danish Royal Opera and the Malmö State Opera of Sweden. He has perfomed as a tenor soloist with the Skaansk Opera, the Ystad Opera, and Music in Blekinge Summer Festival. Performed as the Officer in R.Strauss opera Ariadne on Naxos, has sung the role King Kaspar in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors the role Basilio in Mozarts opera The Marriage of Figaro as well as perfomed the solo parts in Verdi-, Bach-, Mozart-, Bruckner-, Rossini- and Handeloratorio concerts throughout Sweden. In the modern repertoire he has done Jesus Christ Superstar and Moses at Present by Tholander and Gustafsson, and in August 2004 he sang the difficult role of Pollione in Bellini’s Norma in Malmö. He is a frequently booked tenor to several concerts in Scandinavia.

 

Victoria Gydov, Soprano

Victoria Gydov, Dramatic Coloratura Soprano, is originally a native of Denmark and immigrated to the US with her brother and parents when she was seven. Victoria has lived, trained and performed in the US as well as in Denmark before moving to London, Ontario Canada in 2005. She has appeared in numerous concerts and on TV, radio and recordings. Victoria is a versatile singer that enjoys performing beloved music from opera, operetta, oratorio, musical, jazz, gospel and popera cross-over music. Some soloist performances with symphony orchestra and roles have included: Strauss’, Four Last Songs, Mahler 8th, Mahler 2nd, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Barber’s, Knoxville Summer of 1915, Madame Herz in a concert version of Mozart’s opera (The Impresario), Josephine (H.M.S. Pinafore), Mable (The Pirates of Penzance), Rose Maybud (Ruddigore), Lilly (The Secret Garden) and Mrs. Nordstrom in (A Little Night Music). Victoria has also recently sung with lyric Tenor, Mark DuBois and The Mississauga Symphony in the Tomorrow’s Divas Today Opera Concert.
